The Berserker comes through a door at the back of a room with two platforms on an upper level.
Then you need to get into the room where the berserker first appeared.
Go forward a little and she'll burst through the wall. Wait for a moment till you see an opening to her side so you can run past her with-out dying.
Get into the next room copy what you did but watch out she comes through another wall! Get her to destroy the last and second to last piller on the left side of the room.
There's a glitched spot in there near the last pillar, can't exactly say where though.
Get her in the opening next to one of the fallen pillars and use the Hammer of Dawn twice to kill her.
P.S. if you stick in the door ways you can make fun of the Berserker because there's a invisible blocking thing.

Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the latest in the celebrated series of first-person shooters, has some pretty big shoes to fill. The fact that it must compete with the much-hyped Halo 3 and Bioshock doesn't make things any easier.
But Call of Duty 4 ($59.99 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC and Nintendo DS) has one major advantage: It does everything right.
First, the graphics are awesome. As in, my jaw hung open in awe when I first saw the beautifully rendered images on a high-definition TV. It still looks like a video game, but sometimes not by much.

Gears of War movie
Cliff Bleszinski has corroborated that a Gears of War movie in development. He stated, “We are currently at the point where we have had a couple drafts of the script and now we are talking to different directors and trying to feel out who would be the best fit for it.” Video Games typically make an unsuccessful transition to movies, but I have my hopes up for the Gears of War movie. The reason for that is due to the fact that Cliff Bleszinski will be involved in the movie. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait until 2009 to see the movie.

Gears of War clusterluck achievement tip
solution...clusterluck achievement
Go to campaign, load Act 1 Chapter 1. Play through chapter 1 until you get to the part with Dominic where the locust are about to break open the door. Dominic says "Take cover" and it says checkpoint reached. At this point you should have the 2-4 grenades you picked up around the start of the chapter.
Take cover and when the door opens 3 locust will run through and take cover. Lob a grenade over towards where the door opens. If timed correctly, all 3 locust will be killed with that 1 grenade. 1/10 done with the clusterluck achievement. Now for the trick.
Press pause and select "Load last checkpoint." It will restart you right before the 3 locust come running through the door. Repeat what you did earlier by lobbing another grenade in the middle of them and killing them all again...pause again, and load last checkpoint. Throw another grenade and kill them all again. repeat until you have done this a total of 10 times.
Congrats, you now have the Clusterluck achievement. (20 points.)

Gears of War down to third spot
Halo 3 remains at #1, as it will until the planet's very last Xbox 360 red lights itself to death 60 years from now, but beating the beloved Gears of War down to third spot is some achievement for Activision's ace war shooter.

Gears of War Windows Live
A slight problem with Microsoft's Games For Windows Live initiative is manifesting itself in the PC version of Epic Games' Gears of War, which infests stores today.
According to Microsoft, players are automatically prompted to download a Games For Windows Live update when they begin the game. However, the update refuses to install correctly, which can cause some problems.
The solution is an extremely easy one. After downloading the update and arriving at the main menu screen, simply quit of the game and restart it, which should cause the update to install. Alternatively, players may download and apply the update

Gears of War PC
"For gamers who are already well experienced at Gears on the Xbox 360 it might be difficult to justify purchasing an entirely new game for the purpose of playing a few extra hours of single player content and a few extra multiplayer maps . However, 3-4 hours of gameplay is quite significant especially when you consider that some recent retail games featured 5-6 hours of play in their entirely."

Corpser Gears of War Tip
When you are pitted against the Corpser in the Act 3 mines, there's a quick way to win. The Lancer's (chainsaw rifle) constant stream of fire makes it the weapon of choice here. Shoot at the belly of the Corpser, working any angle you can between its legs.
If you hit the belly a few times, it will lift it's front legs and expose it's face. Immediately fire up at it's face and chin. It will shriek and move back.
Hurry, move up grab ammo and repeat. If you don't move fast enough wretches will arrive in waves and make things ten times harder. You must hit the Corpser's face three times.
You'll back it up onto a platform with two destructable joints. They're lit up and on the ground. Shoot them both and the Corpser will plunge into the Imulsion liquid. If you're quick enough you can kill the corpser before any wretches arrive

Killing the Corpser Gears of War
When you are at the part where you will need to kill it, first when it opens its legs, shoot its belly with the lancer and then it will scream, then, immediately, shoot its mouth.
Do this 2 or 3 more times.
When it gets to the point where it cannot go back anymore press Y to look at the point of interest, at the two ends of where the Corpser is, it should say "loose clamps".
Quickly shoot the clamps on both sides closest to you and you're done.

Gears of War points
In Gears of War, for instance, completing Act 1 on "casual" nets you 10 points, "hardcore" another 20, while "insane" rolls out the 30 point red carpet. Add them up and you get a score that's supposed to represent either your "skill" or your profligate willingness to buy everything available and only play through the first few levels. Two years into the 360's life cycle, casual gamers tend to have scores in the thousands, while hardcore gamers are easily looking down on the rest of us from into the tens of thousands.

Stuart Beattie Gears of War movie
Stuart Beattie, script writer of the upcoming Gears of War movie, said that we can expect something similar to 300 in terms of look. Sorry, ladies and gentlemen of that persuasion, that doesn't mean lots of leather Y-fronts and oily pecs. It means it's going to have the backgrounds put in later.
"That film was shot completely on green screen, which is amazing when you actually see the film," said Beattie. "It's probably how we're going to do Gears of War".
300 was a cool movie and it was similar to Sin City it will be interesting to see how they make this movie.

Beattie Gears of War
Beattie (who scripted the first Pirates of the Caribbean flick, and Buz Luhrmann's upcoming epic Australia) praised recent hit 300 and hinted at the visual feel of the Gears film: "It's interesting. Everyone's talking about 300. They use it as an example of where things are headed. That film was shot completely on green screen, which is amazing when you actually see the film. It's probably how we're going to do Gears of War."

Gears of War PC platform
Gears of War was a deliberately paced game, and not one that would immediately take to the PC platform. Though it adds new content in the form of five singleplayer chapters, three multiplayer maps, and some improved visuals, it all really comes down to the controls--and thankfully, developer Epic Games has nailed that aspect in every way.
Gears of War for Windows makes its way to stores on November 6th.
The game will feature five new singleplayer chapters, a new "King of the Hill" multiplayer game mode, three new multiplayer maps, a game editor, and the first and last showdown with the infamous Brumak boss. Also included will be all of the Xbox 360 downloadable content released thus far, for a total of 19 multiplayer maps.

How To Defeat General Raam Gears of War
Hint - Berserker Beat Down
To defeat the Beserker at the end of act one, simply dive to the side when she charges at you. Run through the doorway to your right and continue to the door at the end of the room and face your back to it. Get the Berserkers attention by shooting at her or revving the chainsaw then, dive away at the last moment when she charges causing her to break the door down for you.
Continue this to get through the next two doors. When you finally lure her into the courtyard simply use the Hammer of Dawn twice to take her down. [If Dom is killed the mission is over, so revive him if he's knocked down]
Hint - How To Defeat General Raam:
In order to defeat Raam, you need to have grenades and a sniper rifle which is supplied in the center of the room before entering the boss arena.
After entering the arena, stay behind the wall you ended the cut scene with. This is important because you need to maintain your distance from Raam. Also, it helps to command Don to "cease fire." This will make him run back towards you keeping him alive longer to distract Raam.
The trick is to get Raam's swarm away from his body. In order to do this, you need to throw a grenade at Raam. If successful, the swarm will disperse giving you clear head shots using the sniper rifle. Repeat until he’s defeated.
If you don't defeat Raam by the time he reaches your wall cover, move in the opposite direction he does and shoot when the swarm disperses. You will take damage from Raam’s machine gun, but you stay in the light which prevents the swarm from killing you.

Success of Gears of War
The success of Gears of War also shows why online gaming is so important. It allows gamers to be social, rather than isolated in front of their PC or consoles. It's a game where players organize tournaments, meet up on certain nights to play, and keep a dedicated friends list of high-quality players. Gears of War—and other titles with a strong online component—get a boost in sales because gamers want to be part of a tight-knit experience and join a community of friends who want to play together online.

Bioshock
2K Games epic accounts for 58 per cent of all full price 360 unit sales in first week
Bioshock has lived up to the hype at retail this week, storming in at number one and becoming the second fastest-selling 360 game after Gears of War.
2K’s triple-A title outstrips chart stalwart Transformers, which drops one place to two, just ahead of Nintendo’s two Brain Training titles for DS at three and four. Fellow Nintendo titles Wii Play and Pokemon Diamond both fall this week to fifth and sixth spot respectively.

Unreal Engine 3
There were a number of reason why we changed the title. The biggest being everyone felt this truly was the 3rd Unreal Tournament title.
UT2003 and UT2004 shared a lot of the same content and could be seens as two parts of the same game, so we consider them combined as UT2. Another reason is that we wanted to reinforce that this was the 3rd generation of our engine technology. The original Unreal Tournament used Unreal Engine 1, UT2003/4 used Unreal Engine 2 and UT3 is using Unreal Engine 3. One more reason we changed it is we wanted to communicate that UT3 was a major jump forward in the series from the last incarnation.

Gears of war in full HD

Gamers are puzzled why there isn't going to be cross-platform support for Gears of War, Mark Rein had to step in and tell us the cold hard truth: the PC and Xbox 360 codes of the video games are just plain incompatible with each other. "The PC build kept going with the [Unreal Engine 3] engine code, as opposed to using the Xbox 360 Gears of War code base. Over time, it gradually lost compatibility," said Epic Games' vice president.
Rein continued that for Gears of War (Xbox 360 and PC) to be fully cross-platform between the next gen console and the PC, they would need a "humongous patch on the Xbox 360 side" to make it work, or sacrificing the use of the high-end code base on the Windows side.
Gears of war in full HD resolution is really an amazing experience!

Gears of War film
The Gears of War film made news back in mid-March when it was announced, based largely on the immense success of the video game on the Xbox 360. Since the Halo movie has been put on hold until further notice, every video game fan out there is patiently awaiting a good video game live action adaptation that isn't directed by Uwe Boll. Maybe Gears of War will be it, and maybe Wiseman is the perfect choice after putting together an action-filled Die Hard.
Along the same lines, the announcement of an Escape from New York remake starring none other than Gerard Butler hit huge back in mid-March as well. Although the fans loathed more than praised this announcement (everyone is tired of more sequels and remakes), it is still big news and will still be a massive release once the film hits theaters.

Gears of War for Windows
Gears of War for Windows was not created with the same version of Unreal Engine 3 as Gears of War for 360. We wanted to take advantage of all the latest and greatest optimizations and features that are constantly being added to UE3 and as such, this new content is not easily compatible with the Xbox 360 version."
With five additional chapters to play, including one that pits Marcus Fenix against the monstrous Brumak, the revelation is likely to disappoint many who were hoping for a downloadable update. Unfortunately, the game won't allow cross platform PC vs. 360 play either.

Epic Games PC version of Gears of War
Epic Games’ lead designer Cliff Bleszinski and producer Rod Fergusson in an interview with IGN PC have shattered the dreams of console owners who were expecting new content.
A visibly excited Cliffy B said, Way back in the day we had hoped to fight the Brumak on the Xbox 360. But once we did our first schedules for the original title it became obvious that the beast would have to wait for later..Now thankfully he’s be able to be revealed in his full prime.”
That sure is great news for PC gamers who sadly haven’t got a chance to experience Gear of War-style gory battles and those annoying little wretches. Well, don’t fret because the PC version of Gears of War is coming soon with added content.

Boomers Gears of War
Boomers
These are the rather big aliens carying rocket launchers. Most often you encounter them on the later levels in which you have access to more powerfull weapons like the Torque Bow or the Longshot. Listen carefully to Dominic as he will most often announce the boomers by yelling "Booomeers!". The moment you hear Dominic yell, switch to preferable the Torque Bow and look for the boomers. One shot with the Torque Bow will kill them immediatly. Since they tend to be pretty slow and expose themselves almost all the time, it is hard to miss them with the Torque Bow. Most of the time you can kill them even before they are able to fire a single shot. If you do not have the Torque bow, equip the Longshot and go for the headshot. Again it is hard to miss them, but this time you will need two shots to finish them. Try to achieve a perfect active reload and kill the boomer as fast as possible. Do not let them come close to you.

Gears Of War Reloading Gun

The slider line will start slow towards the sweet-spot square, and then move faster towards the end once it's out of the perfect-reload area. If you can tap RB again right as the slider reaches the sweet spot, you'll get a successful active reload and get a damage-inflicting boost as well as the convenience of a quick reload.
If your timing hits the longer gray bar, you will reload quickly but not enjoy a damage boost. And if you tap the button anywhere outside of those areas, the meter will flash red and you will jam the gun, therefore causing the reload to take longer. If you don't press anything, you will reload at the default speed.

Gears of War munny dolls
They aren't dolls! They're action figures! And they aren't Gears of War munny dolls either, which makes us sad pandas. The National Entertainment Collectables Association (NECA) has announced they'll be making action figures based on Gears of War "and any potential sequels." Sadly, there isn't a single prototype to show off so we'll just have to keep staring at the cute munny doll.

Gears of War Original Soundtrack
The Gears of War Original Soundtrack features over an hour of orchestral music from the game written by Kevin Riepl, orchestrated and conducted by Corey Status, and performed by The Northwest Sinfonia orchestra. This dramatic score accompanies the engaging and disturbing cinematic story including musical themes for the massively scoped worlds and memorable characters, and enhances the epic storyline that plays out like an intense and unsettling blockbuster action film.

Microsoft Xbox 360
Microsoft acknowledged two weeks ago that Xbox 360 flaws had reached "unacceptable" levels, requiring it to take a charge of more than $1 billion in the June 30 quarter for replacements and warranty extensions. Microsoft also said cumulative Xbox 360 sales had come in below the 12 million-unit target that it had set for that point.
Xbox 360 jumped out to an early lead over Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii in cumulative U.S. unit sales, thanks to a yearlong head start. But the lower-priced Nintendo console has been fast closing that gap, leading its competitors in recent monthly sales totals. So far I have not had any problems with my Xbox 360 Elite "Knock on Wood"

Gears of War and MAC
Gears of War was willing to stray from its Xbox 360 roots, but now we're hearing about an even further departure. In an interview with Game Head's Geoff Keighley, Mark Rein talked up Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War and accidentally let the news slip that both games were headed to the Mac platform. Rein confirmed Gears' Mac-bound status when answering Keighley stating that "yes, Gears is going to come to the Mac and so is UT". The news was not followed by a release date or how far in development the Mac versions are.

Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3
Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3 are both coming to the Mac. That Unreal Tournament 3 was being released on Mac has been previously announced, but the Gears of War announcement comes as quite a surprise.
The news was let slip during an interview with Mark Rein, Vice President and co-founder of Epic Games, on Spike TV's "Game Head" show. Macworld reports that after being asked whether or not Rein was happy with Epic's commitment to PlayStation 3, Rein reiterated that Epic Games was an independent developer, less concerned with platform than with delivering a good game.
Dropping a bombshell, he then added, "Don’t forget, we’re also doing Macintosh." Disbelieving, the host asked for confirmation, at which point Rein said, "Yes, Gears is going to come to the Mac and so is Unreal Tournament 3."

Gears of War music
A compilation of the music from Gears of War will be going on sale across the US on 31st July.
On the CD are all 28 tracks you probably didn't notice when chainsawing Locusts in the facial region, composed lovingly by Kevin Riepl - the same chap responsible for scoring Unreal Tournament 2007 and Soul of the Ultimate Nation (SUN). It's even been performed and recorded by a proper orchestra - the NorthWest Sypmphonia, to be precise.Gamers online forum

Gears of War cog tags
ACT 1 - ASHES - GOW COG Tags
Jacinto Maximum Security Prison
COG Tag 1
When you begin the game you choose a path, left or right (combat or training). Regardless of the path chosen, you'll see a Gears logo straight ahead, just under it is the first COG tag. Look towards the rear of the courtyard across from the cell area if you have trouble finding this right away.
COG Tag 2
This tag is located in the first room where the door is cut open by the enemy locusts. It is in the rear of the room, under the stairway that you came down if you took the training route. You'll see a Gears logo on the wall, the COG Tag is on the floor a bit to the left of the logo.
COG Tag 3
This particular tag's presence is not highlighted particularly well by a Gears logo, but it is still easy to find. As soon as you enter into the courtyard area you'll see some stairs to your left, go up them and turn left at the top and you should see the COG tags. The gears logo is in the southwest corner of the yard, so it's still there, just not exactly where the tags are. if you got sucked into the battle, be sure to grab the tags before heading to the chopper.
Trial By Fire
COG Tag 4
You don't really need help finding this COG Tag, as one of your comrades will point it out to you. In case you didn't hear him, it is in the first small courtyard of the level, near a short wall in the yards center and to the right of the Gears logo.
COG Tag 5
In this area you'll encounter two emergence holes within a building (just after crossing the bridge). The COG Tags are near the second emergence hole, slightly hidden by some weeds. be sure to grab it before you head towards the streets.
Fish In A Barrel
COG Tag 6
After fighting in the streets against troika gunners, and dealing with four emergence holes, you'll find this COG tag in the far left corner, located near some ammunition on the ground. It's right by the fourth emergence hole.
knock Knock
COG Tag 7
Before you begin battle in this area take notice to the white van with the Gears logo on it. You'd suspect the COG Tags be right there, but they're a bit off. To the left of the van follow the large hole in the ground, the COG Tag is all the way down in the corner.
Hammer
COG Tag 8
This COG tag is located in the hallway where Jack is called upon to open the door. You remember, the annoying hallways with a couple dozen Wretches! Anyhow, I suggest waiting until the Wretches have been defeated to collect the tag. The tag is to the far left of the door Jack is opening (if you're watching him open it). It's on the floor just next to a coffin looking figure made from cement.
COG Tag 9
This COG tag is located in the same room where you and the team discover that Rojas has been killed. As soon as you enter the room (by descending the stairs) the tag is hidden partially behind a pillar and in much of the shadows. While you're listening to the cut-scene head towards that pillar and grab the COG Tag.
China Shop
COG Tag 10
After you witness the brutal slaying of a fellow comrade by a hungry, and somewhat annoyed Berserker, you can go grab his COG Tag. Just head to where he was killed, the COG tag is on the ground of the dead end area near some flames.
COG Tag 11
As you are trying to lure the Berserker outside, the Berserker will smash open three doors for you. As the third door is opened, you'll notice before you exit the enclosed area that to the left of that door, in an alcove is another set of COG Tags.
COG Tag 12
Once you have lured the Berserker outside, look for the Gears logo on the wall. If you head left right after you exit the building and go along the curved section of the wall you will find the COG Tag on the ground by the main wall, just after the Gears logo.
ACT 2 - NIGHTFALL - GOW COG Tags
Tick Tick Boom
COG Tag 13
This is in the area right after you have regrouped. You'll enter a small room with two sets of stairways and a couch. Open fire on the couch to destroy it and reveal the COG Tag hidden beneath it.
Grist
COG Tag 14
Once you exit the room with the square shaped catwalk, descend the stairs and go to the back of the alley the stairs are in. The COG tags are located at the end of the alley behind some rocks.
COG Tag 15
As you near the Stranded Settlement, just up the stairs where the Boomer was, you'll see this set of COG Tags near a couple of newspaper vending machines.
COG Tag 16
As you make your way to checkpoint 2 the road curves off to the right. Before heading in that direction look to the left for a propane tank and a shed. Shoot the propane tank and with this new lighting you'll be able to enter the shed, where you'll find COG Tag 16.
COG Tag 17
This COG Tag is located in the area where you guide Dom with the spotlight. As you enter the area, the Gears logo is on the wall behind and to your right, but the COG Tag is to the left, in a darkened area near some rubble. To get this one, guide Dom down the street with the spotlight, then move the spotlight into position to illuminate that far left area were the tag is at. When you exit the building, grab the tag before you meet back up with Dom.
Dark Labyrinth
COG Tag 18
This COG Tag is located in the area where you shoot the propane tank out in the abandoned car and run down the road using the car as a torch. As soon as you enter the area (where you'll see the car in front of you) look on the ground to your right to locate the tag. You may need the extra light from the propane tank in the car to get to it safely. So, shoot the propane tank, quickly pick up the tag and run down the street with the flaming car.
ACT 3 - BELLY OF THE BEAST - GOW COG Tags
Downpour
COG Tag 19
This is in the rainy area outside. There are two buildings, one with a generator in it and another with an elevator inside. You'll come up on the one with the elevator first, they're on the right. Behind that building, towards the sea, is a long plank, follow the plank to the end to discover the COG Tag.

COG Tag 21
This COG Tag is located in the cart control room. Head down the stairs, near the cars, and turn around. The COG Tags are to the left of the stairs you just came down.
Darkest Before Dawn
COG Tag 22
After you ride the drilling platforms down, stick to the right. You'll see a Gears logo, near is a grenade pickup and some COG tags.
COG Tag 23
On the path along the right side you'd see a building with a Gears logo. After some battle, you can head near the logo and pick up the COG tags to the right of the stairs and platform.
COG Tag 24
Shortly after getting COG Tag 23, you will choose a path, battle, and then reunite. You'll then fight your way through a narrow area. This area has allot of cover, before you leave the area look to the right, on the narrow ledge overlooking the pool of liquid you'll find this set of COG Tags. Grab them before heading to eliminate the Corpser.
ACT 4 - THE LONG ROAD HOME - GOW COG Tags
Campus Grinder
COG Tag 25
As soon as you enter the Campus Grinder area look to your right. You'll find this set of COG Tags near the second staircase on your right side.
Bad To Worst
COG Tag 26
You'll see a rusted car in this area. The COG Tags are behind that car on the sidewalk.
Imaginary Place
COG Tag 27
When you are in the Fenix Estate enter the room that is oval shaped on the one side. In this room you'll find a desk, destroy it to reveal the COG tags. In fact, destroy other things while in this building, sometimes it leads to ammo or grenades.
ACT 5 - DESPERATION - GOW COG Tags
Train Wreck
COG Tag 28
This COG tag is located on the fifth passenger car, as soon as you enter, to the left. This is just after Jack rips open the door.
COG Tag 29
Before you climb the ladder to exit to the third passenger car's roof, you'll see the COG Tags on the ground, be sure to pick them up.
Troika Central
COG Tag 30
This COG Tag is located on the fifth passenger car, in the cabin area. Once you release the cylinders, go forward and enter the interior to grab the tags and some ammo.
Congrats

Evolution
COG Tag 20
This COG Tag is located in the room that has the rotting wooden floor boards that you will fall through. It's in the far right corner of the room. If you fall through before you find it, just head to the ladder in the corner and repeat until you get the COG Tag.
Congrats

Xbox 360 and Xbox titles
For the week ended June 25, the most popular title based on global unique users connected to Xbox LIVE is once again Gears of War. Microsoft and Turn 10's racing simulation takes second place with Rainbow Six Vegas, Guitar Hero II and Call of Duty 3 filling out the top 5.
If the Xbox 360 and Xbox titles are combined, Gears of War would still be the most played. Halo 2 remains the most played original Xbox title.
For the same period, the most purchased Xbox LIVE Arcade title was Price of Persia Classic, followed by Band of Bugs, UNO, Pac-Man Championship Edition and Carcassonne.

Shadowrun demo
Shadowrun demo still remains more popular than the full game, showing that curious gamers are still unwilling to take the plunge with a game that does things a little differently. Crackdown remains popular despite the end of the Halo 3 beta some weeks ago and Guitar Hero II produces a strong showing despite the lack of online play.
New Live Arcade title, Carcassonne, doesn't do as well as other recent Live Arcade releases, whilst Uno enjoys a surge in popularity. New gamers forum

Gears of War champions
The first official season of Gears of War has ended in CAL with a new team on top. Team LGD Black has beaten all opposition to come out as the champions in this hectic field of amazing teams.
Defeating No Name Noobs in four maps to three, they are now the number one team in CAL come season two and have taken $1,800.00 from the prize pot. With MLG Dallas and WSVG Dallas coming very soon, this can be very helpful for the team to travel. Not only that, but this can surely have sponsors flock to them to cover anything else they need.
Not to leave out team N3, they walk away with over $1,200.00 which is still a very nice sum. This team surely to show up at WSVG Dallas and/or MLG Dallas, we can expect this team to tune their game even tighter in order to come out on top.

Hint: Fighting the Wretches Gears of War
When fighting wretches--the small, shrieking enemies that don't use weapons--attack with melee strikes. The best melee strikes come from weapons other than your grenades and Lancer chainsaw rifle. The chainsaw attack is too slow to combat the swarming wretches, so stick to quick-hit melee punches for instant kills.
Hint - How To Defeat General Raam Gears of War
If you run out of grenades or simply cannot aim them, just stay in the lighted areas of floor to avoid the Kryll swarm.
If you don't defeat Raam by the time he reaches your wall cover, move in the opposite direction he does and shoot when the swarm disperses. You will take damage from Raam’s machine gun, but you stay in the light which prevents the swarm from killing you.

Mark Rein from Epic Games
Any rumors about an E3 announcement involving Gears of War 2 can now be silenced. Mark Rein from Epic Games said, "We are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year", leaving no room for doubt. He went on to mention that they were still committed to proving updates for the original. See the full statement below.

Gears of War
Fans of shooters should also flock to the Xbox 360, where “Gears of War” has emerged as the current flagship title and “Halo 3” will likely soar to the same level of popularity when it is released Sept. 25. Players will also enjoy the opportunity to firefight with friends or cross-country foes via Xbox Live, the most sophisticated of the consoles' online services by virtue of its skill ranking systems and sheer network size.
While the cheaper Xbox 360 ($300 for the Core System; $480 for the Elite System) may seem to make a better choice than the $600 PlayStation 3, there is a heightened risk in hanging your hat on the Microsoft console. Some consumer Web sites estimate the system's failure rate to reach as high as 30 percent, while Microsoft claims the figure to fall within the industry standard of 4 to 6 percent.Gamers forum

multiplayer gears of war
1000 Gamerpoints for Gears of War not enough for you? Well, you'll be pleased to hear that Microsoft and Epic have released a free update this morning which adds a further 250 of them, as well as fixing a few other bugs for the game.
The Achievements reward hard work in Annex multiplayer gametype added earlier this year, as well as the downloadable maps which are currently available for 400 MS Points (and will be free in September). And we mean hard work. For example, one asks you to "Complete 100 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in Annex and capture 3 objectives in each match" while another wants you to "Win 20 multiplayer matches of 3+ rounds in any game type on the Bullet Marsh multiplayer map".Well this is fine but gamers like me get killed to much to get any points.

Gears of War update
Gears of War will receive an update on June 14th (2 a.m. PDT/ 5 a.m. EDT) opening up 250 more achievement points for the "Annex" game type (which is available for free). The "Hidden Fronts" map pack is also available on the LIVE Marketplace, costing 800 points until Sept. 3rd, when it will become free.
Tired of players roadie running up to you just to give you an explosive hello from the shotgun? The update includes modifications to the roadie run - maybe, just maybe, the update will tone this down a bit.
The update also includes the standard "general housekeeping", so various bug fixes can be expected as well. Gamers forum

Halo 3 or Gears of War
Sometimes the simplest game can be every bit as addictive and fun as monster games like Halo 3 or Gears of War. This is probably the reason why games like Pong still remain popular to this day and continue to inspire developers. While there are probably hundreds of versions of Pong-inspired games out there, one that will appeal to hardcore Pong fans and casual players alike is PONG! Multiplayer, a Firefox extension that allows you to indulge in Pong without leaving the comfort of your favorite browser.I still don't understad why when we get points in GW its not added to our total.dete49sog

Halo 3 bigger than Gears of War
Halo 3 is going to be bigger than Gears of War. There's no question about it. I know what the numbers are, and it's already clear that Halo 3 is going to be much bigger. That's no slight on Gears of War, that game is a mega-hit. It's a great new franchise for us and for Epic, and everyone should be proud of that. But Halo is in a world of its own, and like I said earlier, I do believe that comparing it to "Spider-Man 3" and to Harry Potter, from a consumer entertainment standpoint, is a fair comparison. That's a good set of analogues to use. That's not Gears of War just yet. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's just on another plane. In my opion Halo 3 will be huge two totally different types of games.
X-box live Gears of War

The amount of detail that was put into the characters and environments is something that will go down in gaming history. I was pleasantly surprised that with all of the amazing graphics and technical breakthroughs in “Gears of War” Epic Games still found time to give us hardcore gamers a feature that we so desperately seek. That’s right I’m talking about cooperative game play over X-box live. This feature allows you and a friend to play side by side, when you are actually miles apart. The fast paced action can also be enjoyed with friends at home on the same Xbox or system linking.
Gears achievements
The game has achievements for finishing each of the five acts on each of the three difficulties, and they stack, so if you beat an act on hardcore, you get the casual points, as well. It only seems to keep track of what difficulty setting you're on when you finish the act, so all this switching around won't cause any trouble on that front, either. The game's achievements are pretty good, with a smart mix of points you'll get for simply playing through the game and some more esoteric ones, like points for playing as Dom in co-op, points for perfectly reloading your weapon many times in a row, doing well online, and so on. None of the points seem that far fetched, but you also won't have the full thousand during your first couple of days with the game, either.
Gears of War Chainsaw
Chainsaw cuts through objects
The chainsaw on your Lancer has the ability to cut through many things if you get close to it and start it up. This includes doors, walls, and boxes.
Rapid fire Longshot, Boomshot, or Torque Bow
Shoot the Longshot, Boomshot, or Torque Bow. When the active reload bar gets to the broad area, press RB + B and immediately fire the weapon. If done correctly, you can keep shooting without reloading. This glitch does not do damage but can be a distraction.

Gears of War Tips
Infinite grenades in Multiplayer mode
This trick can be done on any online level. First, get either smoke or frag grenades. Take out your Lancer and do an Active Reload then immediately switch to your grenades and press B when switching. Then, press RB(5) or RB(10), depending on the game. Next, throw your grenade. The ammo counter should read zero but you should be acting as if you are holding a grenade. Note: You can only tag people and if you switch weapons you will exit the glitch.

Successfully complete Campaign mode on the Insane difficulty setting to unlock a secret Gamerpic, which has the Red Gear's Symbol behind Marcus.
Accomplish the "Seriously..." achievement by getting 10,000 total kills in versus ranked matches to unlock a secret Gamerpic.
Successfully complete any ranked versus mach to unlock a secret Gamerpic featuring Marcus running in the rain.
Hidden video
Turn on the game and wait for the "Gears Of War: Press Start" screen to appear. Do not press Start. Allow the screen to idle for a few of minutes, and a video will begin to play about Emergence Day.
Faster reload times
When you press RB to reload, there will be a clear bar with a small white segment somewhere along it. It will appear where your bullets used to be. There will also be a smaller white bar moving across the clear bar. As soon as the white bare gets inside the white segment, press RB again. This will reload your weapon much faster, and if timed just perfectly, will give your gun an extra boost in fire power. However, if you do not time it correctly, the clear bar will become red and it will take even longer to reload than if you had not attempted it.
About Face maneuver
This type of move is done when your character whips around 180 degrees quickly. To perform the move, hold Analog-stick Away to start walking backwards + A for a short time. Release A when your character turns around to perform it. To avoid frag grenades or retreat somewhere fast, keep holding A and Marcus will "roadie run" in the opposite direction.
Closing Emergence Holes
When an Emergence Hole opens up, toss a grenade into it. This will automatically close the hole, and therefore keep the locusts from coming out.
The Hammer Of Dawn can easily destroy Emergence Holes. You must activate it by targeting an enemy first, and then aim it toward the Emergence Hole.
Fire a Torque Bow arrow into an Emergence Hole. This is somewhat challenging to do, due to the straight line of fire given by the bow. However, if you are close enough to fire while the line of fire is arced, it is possible to make it into the hole. A Torque Arrow stuck in the top of the hole will close it as well.
When there is an Emergence Hole, take out your Lancer, go over the hole, and hold B. When you do this, every enemy that comes out of the hole will get chain-sawed.
