Avoid the Duel
Chainsaw duels are fun, and winning them brings with it a special kind of gory satisfaction, but any time you engage in a duel you also run the risk of losing. With the new backstab chainsaw attack, you can take this possibility out of the equation. Focus more on sneaking up behind enemies rather than charging them.
Reaver Belly
Reavers were seen but largely not heard from in the original Gears, but in Gears of War 2 these frightful enemies consistently join the fray. Luckily, they can be handily defeated if you exploit their weakness.
Rather than duke it out with a Reaver at long range, sprint under them where neither their melee nor ranged attacks can reach you. Then, use blind-fire to rip into their belly with your weapon of choice. You can aim if you want, but there’s no need to, and doing so will just make it more difficult to stay under the Reaver as it moves about.
Try carrying two weapons with different strengths. For example, if you pick up the flamethrower, use it to replace your shotgun as both work best at close range. If you’re already carrying a torque bow, there’s really no need to grab the sniper rifle as well. Combat in Gears of War 2 is very fluid, so make sure you’ve got the tools you need to engage at both close and long range.
Pistol Time
It’s not uncommon in Gears of War 2, especially on Insane difficulty, to find yourself having to ration bullets. In order to avoid ammo shortages, try taking down easier enemies like wretches, tickers, and low-level grubs with the rarely used pistol. Keep your more powerful weapons in reserve for the tougher creatures.

The sequel, which has again been produced by Epic Games, pops you back into the shoes of Marcus Fenix, and it’s set six months after the events of the first game. Naturally enough, there’s a new Locust threat on the way, and a big counterattack appears to be humanity’s last hope. Or in other words: there’s lots of action.

People just bull rush each other with shotguns. To counter this, hide somewhere with a lancer equipped.When you see an enemy bull rushing around, fire fully automatic at them, when they get too close, roll backwards and pull out your shotgun. Then kill them.
2.Use smoke grenades if you have suppresive fire on your position, find new cover where you are not visible at all. When they come looking for you, unload a lancer clip on them.
3.When someone gets too close, shoot as many shotgun shells at them as possible.
4.If you are the last person left on your team, find a high up covering fire position with a sniper rifle(if possible) and pick one enemy off. Once you kill one, find another covering position and repeat.(if you rush into fight a whole 4-man enemy team, you will die within seconds)

When you are pitted against the Corpser in the Act 3 mines, there's a quick way to win. The Lancer's (chainsaw rifle) constant stream of fire makes it the weapon of choice here. Shoot at the belly of the Corpser, working any angle you can between its legs.
If you hit the belly a few times, it will lift it's front legs and expose it's face. Immediately fire up at it's face and chin. It will shriek and move back.
Hurry, move up grab ammo and repeat. If you don't move fast enough wretches will arrive in waves and make things ten times harder. You must hit the Corpser's face three times.
You'll back it up onto a platform with two destructable joints. They're lit up and on the ground. Shoot them both and the Corpser will plunge into the Imulsion liquid. If you're quick enough you can kill the corpser before any wretches arrive.

To get the achievement killing three enemies at once ten times, go to the stage Act 3 - Evolution and locate the area of the Imulsion plant where the guy gets killed when he falls through the rotten wood floor.
Take along at least one grenade and simply follow the dead guy down a hole (or any hole, if you step in the wrong spot). Run around the cellar until you think you have enough enemies following (meaning at least three running after you), tag one with a grenade melee attack.
If you die, that's perfect, since you restart right at the checkpoint of that room and do it again. Achievement progress are independent of game progress. If not, reload the checkpoint and do it again.

If you see an enemy approaching with the chainsaw at the ready, don't panic. A single shot from any weapon will force the enemy to drop the chainsaw, and that will place you at an immediate advantage.

Gears of War weapons

The Shotgun. I hate its limited range but it's the only weapon I feel comfortable with when I get into a gun battle. I am getting more comfortable with the Lancer and using the chainsaw but the shotgun is still my go-to gun.
My second choice would have been the Boomshot. I don't like the fact that it only has 2 shells to start with but it's always pleasurable when you drop one of those at someone's feet and they don't stand a chance.
